Brazilian by birth, Lucia initially came to New York in 1988 to pursue her masters in education. There she met her husband, a textile importer, and re-discovered her love of fabric textures and colors. After seeing the year-to-year drabness of so many New Yorkers dressed in black, she realized that she ought to tailor her teaching enthusiasm toward adults who could benefit from their own personal fashion consultant!
